Ugem Rising Club emerged champions of the 3rd Late Uday Shirodkar Memorial Cup after defeating United Boys of Ambaulim 5-4 via a penalty shootout in the final played at the Subhash Chandra Bose Sports Complex, Karai Shiroda, on Sunday. The tournament was organised by the Shiroda Youth Club.
The final ended in a goalless draw at the end of regulation time, forcing the match into a tiebreaker. In the shootout, Rutik Bandodkar, Pratamesh Gauncar, Austin Coutinho, Macson Lopes and Aron Gomes converted for Ugem Rising, while Aljiano Fernandes, Savlon Fernandes, Felison Fernandes and Sowell Fernandes scored for United Boys.
Anthony Pango, senior vice-president of the GFA, was the chief guest and presented the prizes in the presence of GFA executive members and club officials.
