An upcoming business incubator led by students from the University of Calgary aims to give underrepresented women the tools they need to break into the market through the Ember program — but they are looking for more members to join this year’s cohort.
Co-project director and University of Calgary business student Raneem Elemary said Ember is one of the many projects that are run by Enactus at UCalgary.
The free program runs from Jan. 3 to March 21, and offers women over the age of 18 weekly sessions that host industry professionals, hands-on workshops, student mentorship guidance, and even access to interest-free microloans to scale their businesses.
Since the summer, Elemary said she has been working with a team of four to bring Ember to the community.
