AS THE Joint Committee of Parliament on the One Nation One Election Bills continues its consultations with stakeholders, it is yet to meet representatives of one of the key bodies, the Election Commission. A meeting had been scheduled for December 4, but it is learnt that the EC sought a postponement as Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar was out of town then. It is learnt that the CEC may himself appear before the panel at a later date, as opposed to the usual practice of senior officers of the commission representing it in such meetings.
