According to Japanese authorities, Chinese fighter jets engaged in provocative radar targeting of Japanese military aircraft near the Okinawa islands during the weekend.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Minoru Kihara addressed the press, stating that the Chinese accusations of obstruction were baseless, challenging Beijing's narrative of the aerial confrontation.
