Eight-and-a-half years later, the Ernakulam sessions court will pronounce the verdict in the 2017 actress sexual assault case on Monday. The case, which led to the formation of the Women In Cinema Collective (WCC), also brought the spotlight on Malayalam actor Dileep, who is the eighth accused in the crime.

On February 17, 2017, the actress was sexually assaulted in a moving car while she was coming to Kochi for a shoot. The crime was also filmed by the six accused who were directly part of the crime, including Sunil, alias Pulsar Suni.
