SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — A person is in custody after police say they sent a threatening message to a Scottsdale area high school on Saturday.
Aaron Bolin with Scottsdale PD said that a juvenile boy was arrested for sending a threat to Coronado High School over the weekend. While police determined that the threat was unsubstantiated, they said students and families should expect an increased police presence at the school on Monday out of an abundance of caution.
In their investigation, police say they learned the suspect did not have the means actually to carry out the written threat. Due to the suspect’s age, he has not been identified. Police did not say if the suspect is a student at the high school. It is also unclear what charges the suspect could face.
