A major project to transform brownfield land in Wolverhampton and create hundreds of jobs in green technologies is set to be given the go-ahead.

Members of the West Midlands Combined Authority's Investment Board are expected to allocated more than £6 million towards the 'Six Mile Green' scheme.

The funding will be used to redevelop two hectares of brownfield land across four plots near the University of Wolverhampton Science Park.

It is hoped the project will deliver more than 12,000sqm of commercial space, attract more than £22 million in investment and create up to 595 jobs with a further 110 construction jobs.

The project is a key element of the city's wider Green Innovation Corrid
