The Holyrood election should be contested on the matters for which the Scottish Parliament is ultimately responsible . ‌

It’s all very well to express frustration with the performance of the Labour Government at Westminster but ultimately, the decisions on a whole range of vital public services in Scotland are taken by MSPs. The biggest of all is, of course, the NHS . The health service in Scotland received a whopping £21billion last year. ‌

That figure is certain to increase again when Shona Robison announces next month the last Scottish Budget before May’s election. At a time when there is simply not enough public money to go around, it’s more vital than ever that spending decisions and service delivery are ­scrutinised properly. ‌
