DAVENPORT, Iowa (KWQC) - A Davenport man has been charged after police said he and another person stole bikes worth over $1,000.

Jamie Johnston, 44, is charged with:

Felony third-degree burglary

Felony conspiracy to commit non-forcible felony

Felony second-degree theft

Davenport police got a report about three bikes being stolen from a business in the 3600 block of Eastern Avenue in August, according to court documents.

The same day, officials said, Johnston and another person went into an empty building and stole three bikes, which were estimated to cost $1,649.

Police said they found one of the three stolen bikes after searching Johnston and the other person’s home in the 1700 block of Gaines Street.

Officers also found text messages of the two talking about stealing and selling
