Hyderabad, Dec 8: The Telangana government has stirred a political debate by proposing to name a prominent road near the United States Consulate General in Hyderabad as ‘Donald Trump Avenue’. The announcement drew sharp criticism from the BJP, which accused the Congress-led state administration of renaming places after “whoever trends.”
In addition, the government plans to name the upcoming greenfield radial road at the proposed RRR project after late industrialist Ratan Tata, according to PTI reports. Earlier, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had suggested naming key roads in Hyderabad after global corporations, including Google Street near the tech giant’s upcoming Financial District campus, expected to be its largest office outside the United States.
