Kiss frontman Gene Simmons believes “bad decisions” resulted in the death of his former bandmate, Kiss guitarist and cofounder Ace Frehley.
In an interview with the New York Post, published on Saturday, December 6, Simmons, 76, detailed his perspective. “He refused [advice] from people that cared about him — including yours truly — to try to change his lifestyle. In and out of bad decisions. Falling down the stairs — I’m not a doctor — doesn’t kill you. There may have been other issues, and it breaks my heart,” Simmons said.
He continued, “The saddest thing — you reap what you shall sow, unfortunately.”
Us Weekly confirmed on November 10 that Frehley died at the age of 74 after suffering from a stroke and “subdural hematoma” caused by a fracture to the back of his skull, on October 16.
