Udaipur: Popular filmmaker Vikram Bhatt and his wife, Shwetambari Bhatt, were arrested on Sunday in Mumbai for allegedly cheating the founder of Indira IVF hospital of Rs 30 crore. The doctor wanted to make a biopic on his late wife.

Rajasthan Police will apply for their transit remand in Bandra court on Monday, the Mumbai police official added.

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that an FIR has been registered against Bollywood film director Vikram Bhatt for allegedly defrauding a Udaipur-based doctor of over Rs 30 crore by luring him into financing films with promises of earning Rs 200 crore. The filmmaker, however, has denied the allegations, saying that the police are being “misled.”
