Remove the 'interim'
Dr. Lowry Barnes is the "interim" chancellor of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, replacing Cam Patterson, who decided to step down in June.
University of Arkansas System President Jay Silveria appointed him and now has formed an advisory search committee to work with a search firm to finalize a chancellor position profile and cultivate a short list of candidates for him to pick a successor to take to the Board of Trustees for final approval.
After graduating with honors from UAMS College of medicine, Barnes remained at UAMS for his internship and residency in orthopedic surgery.
