Srinagar, Dec 08: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday ordered a detailed inquiry into the incident occurred at Child and Maternity Hospital, Anantnag, where a 24-year-old woman died following delivery, an incident that had triggered allegations of medical negligence and protests by family members and locals.

Taking cognizance of the incident, the government has appointed Principal, Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar as Inquiry Officer, who have been asked to submit a detailed enquiry report along with her recommendations within 14-days positively.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to the appointment of Prof. (Dr.) Iffat Hassan Shah, Principal, Government Medical College, Srinagar as Inquiry Officer to conduct a detailed enquiry into the incident that occurred on 08.12.2025
