This holiday season give one of these three metro area students the gift being the Des Moines Register's newest Student of the Week.

This week's nominees come to us from Norwalk and West Des Moines school districts.

The public can vote once a day for the Des Moines Regsiter's Student of the Week through noon on Friday, Dec. 12. The winner will be announced Dec. 15.

Staff from 30 schools in Polk, Dallas and Warren counties are asked each week to nominate a standout student.
