The Malad police Friday arrested a Vadodara-based businessman for allegedly duping a businesswoman in Mumbai.
The complainant, Priti Pawar, 48, who co-owns a centre providing a range of medical services on Goregaon Mulund Link Road, had ordered an advanced machine for Colon Hydrotherapy and an Infrared Sauna from a company in Gujarat after speaking with the owner on the phone. The woman procured a loan and paid the person for the machines, but the accused allegedly sent plywood and cardboard in the parcel.
Pawar, while surfing the Internet, learnt that a Vadodara-based company, Nexorth Orthopedic Pvt Ltd, supplies the machines that she required. She, thereafter, spoke with Dr Nishant Mehta, who claimed to be the owner of the company. Pawar also sent one of her husband’s Vadodara-based fr
