PEORIA, Ill. – The average price of a gallon of gas in the Peoria area is inching closer to below three dollars.
GasBuddy reports Monday’s average in the Peoria area is $3.02/g, down 5.5 cents in the past week. The average is 19.7 cents lower than a month ago, and 6.7 cents lower than a year ago.
Triple A is reporting a $3.03/g average in the Peoria-Pekin metro area on Monday, down 6.7 cents in the past week.
The cheapest price reported on Sunday in Peoria by GasBuddy was $2.76/g, with the highest at $3.49/g.
Peoria’s average is similar to the state average for Monday, with Illinois averaging $3.03/g, down 9.5 cents in the past week. The lowest price in Illinois reported by GasBuddy on Sunday was $2.14/g, with the highest at $4.49/g.
