URBANDALE, Iowa —

A new food pantry is opening Monday at Olmsted Elementary in Urbandale, aiming to help kids thrive in and out of the classroom.

The pantry is a partnership with the district, the Food Bank of Iowa, and Hy-Vee, and there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony Monday morning.

Hy-Vee said it is the second school food pantry it has opened this year.
