The Foreign Office has issued a £125 alert affecting all passport holders. The FCDO has released guidance for UK travellers and holidaymakers venturing to the European Union and further afield.

Via an X post on the platform previously called Twitter, the FCDO stated: "Lost your passport abroad? If your passport is lost, stolen or damaged, you'll need an Emergency Travel Document to get home.

"They cost £125 and can usually be collected after 2 working days." An accompanying graphic simply advises: "Keep your passport safe"
