Former India pacer, who returned for a second stint as an administrator in Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA), has pledged to ensure the return of Indian Premier League (IPL) and international fixtures to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, while placing strong emphasis on strengthening cricket across Karnataka.

Prasad, who earlier served as KSCA vice-president between 2010 and 2013, was recently elected president, and vowed to restore Chinnaswamy’s standing as an elite international venue.

The appointment of Prasad, who featured in 33 Tests and 161 ODIs for India, comes at a crucial stage for the association, which has faced significant criticism in the aftermath of the June 4 stampede at the stadium during Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s IPL 2025 victory parad
