Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) on Monday deferred the implementation of overstay charges for vehicles at Terminals 1 and 2 of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in view of the nationwide disruptions in flight operations triggered by the Indigo crisis.
BIAL had announced that it would charge vehicles that stay at the designated zones at the terminals for more than eight minutes. The new rule was supposed to take effect on Monday. “The airport will give eight minutes (much higher than international standards) of free use of the zone for all users, beyond which Rs 150 will be charged for overstay from 8-13 minutes and Rs 300 for 13-18 minutes,” it had said.
