Severe weather warnings have been issued as parts of the UK are expected to feel up to 90mph winds and heavy rain this week. The severe weather alerts have been issued ahead of Storm Bram which is set to hit the UK and Ireland on Tuesday (December 9).

Storm Bram has been named by Ireland's equivalent of the Met Office , Met Eireann. The strongest winds will be around Irish Sea coasts and up to the north-west of Scotland where severe gales are possible later on Tuesday.

Yellow weather warnings for rain cover north-west England from midnight until 3pm on Tuesday.

Up to 80mm of rain is expected over the Cumbrian hills in particular which could lead to some flooding.
