TOWN OF LOWELL, Wis. — A barn was considered a total loss after a fire Sunday night in the Town of Lowell, roughly 10 miles south of Beaver Dam.
The Beaver Dam Fire Department was paged to the N5000 block of County Road G for a reported structure fire right after 7:35 p.m. Initial reports indicated the fire was in the living room, but fire units quickly discovered the fire was in a barn upon arrival.
Due to the size of the structure and the lack of a municipal water supply, MABAS was activated to the first alarm level, bringing in mutual aid partners from surrounding departments, the fire department said.
An excavator was used to assist with extinguishment operations, and the fire was declared under control roughly at 10 p.m.
