BALTIMORE — Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf left it all on the field in Sunday’s 27-22 win against the Baltimore Ravens, and he ended up having to stay behind as the team headed back to Pittsburgh.
Once the Steelers boarded the team plane after the game, Metcalf had stomach pains, according to a statement from senior director of communications Burt Lauten. The Steelers’ medical staff had Metcalf taken off the plane “out of an abundance of caution” to seek further evaluation at a nearby hospital.
Metcalf stayed at a Baltimore hotel overnight and is set to return Monday to Pittsburgh. The Steelers and Metcalf have an extra day of rest before facing the Miami Dolphins next Monday night at Acrisure Stadium.
