Syracuse, N.Y. - Central New York faces brutal cold on Monday night followed by rain and snow later this week, according to the National Weather Service.
The forecast calls for temperatures to drop to 7 degrees in Syracuse, but it could feel as low as zero with the wind chill. The forecast calls for colder temperatures in outlying areas.

On Tuesday, temperatures could reach as high as 31 degrees followed by a high of 40 degrees on Wednesday, according to the weather service.

There is a 100% chance of precipitation in Syracuse during the day Wednesday, an 80% chance Wednesday night, and a 60% chance Thursday, according to the weather service.
