The international footballing body's antics make sense as the U.S. is readying to host the football World Cup despite becoming a dangerous place to visit and questions about the viability of the tournament. The overall reaction, though, was mirth. But days on, it's useful to remember that FIFA is baldly corrupt and badly run, a fact made clear by it planning a so-called "Pride" match between Egypt, a county that penalizes gay people, and Iran, a country that executes them.
