Current UFC heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall recently posted a video on his official YouTube channel reacting to the UFC 323 bout between Merab Dvalishvili and Petr Yan. While the entire reaction video was 14 minutes long, one moment that instantly started debates on the internet was when Aspinall gave his ‘Fighter of the year’ pick.

When asked about his favourite fighter of the year and why, Tom quickly responded with a confident pick. Aspinall even continued to state that he believes he will probably be the best pick for the coming years as well.

Aspinall said, “For me, the fighter that stands out for me is Ilia Taporia. I just think he’s unbelievable.”

Furthermore, he was asked to name the best knockout of the year, in his opinion. To this, he again picked Ilia as the top contender.
