Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Tim Walz embraces his daughter, Hope Walz, after his acceptance speech during the third day of the Democratic National Convention at the United Center on Aug. 21, 2024 in Chicago, Ill.

In a now-deleted profanity-laced rant, Tim Walz's daughter fired back on social media in a weekend post alleging chaos her family has endured after President Donald Trump called her father the "R"-word.

Over a year after her father became the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, the Minnesota governor's daughter, whose brother has a non-verbal learning disorder, expressed fury in the removed TikTok post calling Trump's rhetoric disgraceful.

"I’m talking about this because while my family and I are always gonna be the bigger people, the president calling my dad what he did has unleashed a (multi-expletive) storm regarding offensive language towards me and my family and specifically my brother," the 24-year-old social media star wrote in the Dec. 6 post, also reported by multiple media outlets including the New York Post and The Hill.

"I have people DMing me saying absolutely horrendous things," the TikTok post continued, according to the outlets. "When I was home last week, somebody drove by and screamed that we were R-words," she added. "What world are we (are expletive) living in.... Shame on you. All of you."

“You can call me whatever you want, you can call my dad, my mom, when it’s Gus, (expletive) to the no," the governor's daughter said in the video. "He dealt with people calling him that last August and now there’s a resurgence? No."

USA TODAY has reached out to Tim Walz's office and to his daughter.

Trump and the 'R word'

Late last month, Trump posted a series of anti-immigration messages on social media, including one that contained the same slur.

"A very Happy Thanksgiving salutation to all of our Great American Citizens and Patriots who have been so nice in allowing our Country to be divided, disrupted, carved up, murdered, beaten, mugged, and laughed at, along with certain other foolish countries throughout the World, for being 'Politically Correct,' and just plain STUPID, when it comes to Immigration," a Nov. 27 post on the president's Truth Social account reads.

In the post, Trump, 79, also called Walz, 61, the "R-word" a term once medically to describe people with mental disabilities, but later used as a bullying slur.
