Air Transat will begin shutting down its operations and suspending flights Monday as its pilots’ union plans to strike, the airline said in a statement Sunday.

The Air Line Pilots Association, which represents 750 Air Transat pilots, says it plans to go on strike as early as Wednesday morning after its members voted last week 99 per cent in favour of a strike .
