Two Eugene-based human rights activists, Anna Lardner and Chloe Longworth, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit against the Trump Administration and the Department of Homeland Security on Dec. 5, claiming federal agents have threatened and arrested activists lawfully protesting outside the Eugene Federal Building.
According to court documents, Lardner and Longworth filed the complaint in the U.S. District Court in Eugene on behalf of themselves and other protestors to "challenge recently issued unconstitutional federal regulations" and to stop the Trump administration from "violating First Amendment rights and attempting to chill plaintiffs and others from protesting" outside the Eugene Federal Building, which houses a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement office.
