LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville and Western Kentucky University football teams accepted invitations Sunday to play in bowl games.

The Cardinals (8-4, 4-4 Atlantic Coast Conference) will meet Toledo in the Bush's Boca Raton Bowl of Beans Tuesday, Dec. 23, at 2 p.m. EST. Just three-and-a-half hours later, the Hilltoppers (8-4, 6-2 Conference USA) will meet Southern Mississippi in the New Orleans Bowl at 5:30 p.m. EST/4:30 p.m. CST.

It's Louisville's fifth straight season playing in a bowl game and third under coach Jeff Brohm, who is 1-1 all-time in bowl games with UofL. The Cardinals defeated Washington 35-34 in last year's Sun Bowl but fell to USC 42-28 in the 2023 Holiday Bowl.
