AMES, Iowa —

Iowa State officially introduced Jimmy Rogers as its next head football coach Monday.

The Cyclones enter a new era after the departure of Matt Campbell, who leaves Iowa State as its all-time winningest head coach.

Rogers spent the 2025 season as the head coach at Washington State, where he led the Cougars to a 6-6 mark. Before that, he was the head coach at his alma mater, South Dakota State, where he won a national title in his first season as head coach. Rogers compiled a 27-3 record in two years at SDSU.

Now, Rogers turns his attention to a program that has risen meteorically over the last decade , going from the cellar of the Big 12 to a perennial winning team.
