Sometimes the best way to silence online trolls is with humour.
That’s what Carissa Codel, a news anchor from Ozark, Montana, does when responding to commenters who have opinions about her body and weight.
Codel, who anchors the morning show “Ozark’s First” on FOX49, has gone viral for sharing videos on social media in which she uses a newscaster voice to read negative comments left by viewers.
“Dayumm Gurl, I want you to put a hurting on me like you do those midnight snacks,” she reads in one video using a voice reminiscent of Family Guy character Tricia Takanawa, before replying, “I don’t think I will.”
