A former stray dog will celebrate this Christmas in her new home after spending 543 days and two festive seasons in kennels. Zena had been with Dogs Trust Darlington but has now been adopted by a family who fell in love with her the moment they met.

Five-year-old Bulldog cross Zena came into the charity's care in August 2023 after being found as a stray. With no information about her past life, the team at Dogs Trust Darlington discovered Zena was an intelligent girl with a fun and loving personality, although she lacked confidence and was worried around other dogs .
