The long-delayed stormwater drainage project for Phase 3B2, Phase 7, Mataur Chowk, Sector 70–71 and adjoining pockets has once again returned to the centre of public debate, with Mohali Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi adding pressure on the Local Government Department to clear the project estimate.

Every spell of rain turns these areas into flood zones, yet the Municipal Corporation’s (MC’s) nearly Rs 7-crore estimate for laying a stormwater system along the 100-ft stretch from Mataur to N-Chowk has been stalled for months due to pending technical approval.
