BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo woman has been sentenced to prison for ramming and killing a pedestrian with a vehicle.
According to the Erie County District Attorney's Office, Iyanna R. Scott, 22, was sentenced on Friday to 15 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision.
Erie County District Attorney Michael Keane says that on Sunday, May 19, 2024, around 5:30 p.m., Scott drove to a car wash on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga with two male passengers. While there, Scott and one of the men began arguing.
According to the DA, when the argument turned physical, both men walked away toward Union Road. Scott, driving a Hyundai Elantra, followed them and struck 21-year-old Demario Patterson before fleeing the scene. Patterson was taken to ECMC, where he later died from his injurie
