BUFFALO, N.Y. — For over 30 years, the Akron High School marching band has traveled around Western New York, spreading cheer. For one day each year, they become the "Santa Band", and they play an assortment of Christmas carols and holiday tunes to get Western New Yorkers in the holiday spirit.

They began at the NFTA MTC, and then move back towards Akron, dressed in Santa Claus suits, with instruments wrapped in festive lights. The band is led by elves as they parade past a smiling audience.

Senior, Shelby Cratt said "I just love to give out to the community. It's great being able to go out and spread some holiday cheer and just getting to see people and like their reactions and smiling faces when we go out and do this,".
