While there is still time before the NCAA transfer portal officially opens, moves around Duke football are already being made.
Junior running back Peyton Jones became the first Blue Devil to announce his intentions to enter the transfer portal on Dec. 8, per On3's Pete Nakos.
Duke (8-5) won the ACC title by taking by Virginia, 27-20, in overtime on Dec. 6. It marks the program's eighth-overall conference title and first outright since 1962. Duke is now set to face Arizona State in the Sun Bowl in El Paso, Texas on Dec. 31.
The college football transfer portal officially opens Friday, Jan. 2, and closes Friday, Jan. 16. The Fayetteville Observer/USA TODAY Network will update information about Duke’s activity with the transfer portal throughout December and January.
