SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Great Bear Ski Valley is set to open for skiing and snowboarding this week, with season passholders able to go one day earlier.

The park will open for season passholders on Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. with 50% of runs.

The park will open to the general public on Thursday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m.

Great Bear says they hope to open tubing for the season on Friday, Dec. 19. Tickets are not available online for tubing. Tickets for Lazer Tubing are on sale now for Jan. 10, 2026, and sell out quickly.

The extended hours for holiday break start Dec. 20 and end Jan. 4, 2026.
