DES MOINES, Iowa —
Iowa State's big win at No. 1 Purdue over the weekend propelled the team up in the rankings.
The Cyclones (9-0) shot up from No. 10 in last week's AP Top 25 poll to No. 4 in Monday's updated rankings.
This is the third consecutive season in which Iowa State has been ranked in the top 5 at least once. The Cyclones got as high as No. 2 in the nation last year before a loss at West Virginia dropped them out of the top 5.
Iowa State takes on in-state rival Iowa this week. The Hawkeyes were the top unranked team in votes received, but their case to make the rankings took a hit with a 19-point loss last week at Michigan State.
