GameStop held an event where customers could trade in (almost) anything, and people did not disappoint with the creative things they returned.

Trade-ins have become synonymous with GameStop, but on Dec. 6, the company held its first-ever Trade Anything Day, and people could trade in whatever they desired, with some restrictions, for store credit, GameStop told USA TODAY in an email.

Customers received store credit for the items and were given a few limits on what they could trade in. This led to GameStop receiving Air Jordans, a taxidermied bobcat, a "creepy doll collection," and more.

Here's what to know about the weird trade-ins GameStop received.

What did people trade in?

The following are the top weirdest items people traded in, according to an email Gamstop sent to USA TODAY:

  • Bobcat
  • Goose
  • Tiny Jesus
  • Creepy doll collection
  • Air Jordans
  • Speed limit sign
  • A happy heater
  • Dog portrait
  • Can of whoop a**
  • Wii Netflix disk
  • Nonalcoholic cider for the employees

Many who showed up for the event also donated canned foods that will be sent to local food banks and pet shelters.

What did customers receive for their trade-ins?

Anyone who brought in something to trade received a $5 trade card that can be used the day of the event or in the future, according to GameStop's website.

If someone brought in items that GameStop already accepts as a trade-in, such as a video game or console, the trade-in was processed normally.
