A major UK supermarket has been named as the cheapest retailer for premium Christmas food and drinks as people prepare for the festive period. While Christmas is a time for gathering with loved ones, feeding friends and family can end up costing a pretty penny.
Asda has been crowned the lowest-priced traditional supermarket for premium Christmas food and drink products by trade magazine The Grocer , in the title’s prestigious festive price comparison survey. The analysis tracked the cost of 33 premium Christmas products including turkey and all the trimmings, mince pies and Champagne at Asda, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer.
Asda’s festive basket totalled £137.76 and was 5.4 percent (£7.90) cheaper than nearest rival Sain
