No. 4 – Carson Wentz, acquired in a trade from the Eagles in March 2021 – was supposed to be the young, long-term fix … until he and his team cratered (in Jacksonville, of course) and were eliminated from the playoffs in his single season. No. 5 – Matt Ryan, secured via a trade from the Falcons – was supposed to be a bridge to something better, but couldn’t even make it through a single season.
