A well-known hotel and leisure club in Middlesbrough has been snapped up by private investors for an undisclosed fee.
The Sporting Lodge Inn, off Low Lane in Stainton, has been bought by "established investors within the UK hotel sector”.
The venue, which boasts 140 bedrooms, a bar, and a 180-cover restaurant, has been operated by the same owners since 2004 and was sold as part of their plans to retire.
The off-market sale drew “strong competitive interest”, but a decision was made to select its new owners due to “financial strength and proven track record in completing transactions”.
Over its decades in operation, The Sporting Lodge has become a key venue for conferences, weddings, and social events.
