The McMaster Museum of Art has won the award for Ontario’s exhibition of the year.
Topping the likes of the Art Gallery of Ontario and Ottawa Art Gallery, the 2024 exhibition “The Clichettes: Lips, Wigs, and Politics” reigns supreme.
“To beat them out for the exhibition of the year, for this top honour, is extraordinary. We’re all walking a little bit taller and on our tiptoes, with pride,” Mary Reid, director and chief curator of the MMA, said about taking home the Exhibition of the Year (Budget Over $50,000) award at the 48th annual Galeries Ontario/Ontario Galleries awards.
“This is like a massive feminist celebration.”
