Council bosses remain "confident" that Market Drayton's swimming pool will reopen before Christmas, with an official date expected to be announced this week.

The pools at Market Drayton Swimming and Fitness Centre have been closed to the public since mid-October due to emergency repairs following a major leak.

Last month the Shropshire Star revealed that the pools could be back open to the public before Christmas, and councillors say they still expect this to be the case, with a reopening date due to be confirmed in the coming days.
