Kingston restaurant owner Jimmy Hassan is at it again, spreading joy throughout the holidays, one slice at a time.

For the fifth year in a row, his initiative, called the Santa Slices Project, is serving up slices of pizza to those in need.

According to Hassan, who is also the city councillor for Trillium District, it’s something he started doing during the pandemic when the homeless population began to surge.

“I came to know Belle Park and those struggling with cooking food because during the holidays, Martha’s Table would close for a couple days, all the community kitchens were closed for a few days and a lot of people were away, so donations dropped down. People are busy with their lives and loved ones,” said Hassan.
