Trailing 1-0 against the Legionnaires after one period despite outshooting Sarnia 20-5, Schmidt scored twice before the middle of the frame. The veteran forward buried his third goal at 16:33 of the second period as the Warriors started to pull away.
Coen Galbraith scored twice, Max Wildfong had a power-play goal and assist, and Dax Vader added a single marker. Quinn Kipfer picked up three assists, and Evan Arnold and Lucas Minard both had a pair of helpers. Gage Hurst stopped 14 shots.
