BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football quarterback Fernando Mendoza described the hit he took from Ohio State defensive end Caden Curry in colorful terms Monday afternoon during a return appearance on The Pat McAfee Show.
"It was like I got hit by a freight train with no brakes," Mendoza said with a laugh.
McAfee, who attended IU's 13-10 win over Ohio State , opened the interview asking about the moment that they agreed was a "clean shot."
"I'm all for playing football, playing rough and dirty, like here we go, let's get the pads going," Mendoza said. "I know the NFL is going more towards an offensive game, however as a quarterback and competitor, I'm all for competing and that was a great shot and hit."
The crowd quickly fell silent at Lucas Oil Stadium as IU fans worried whether or not
