KEMPER COUNTY, Miss. — A Kemper County patrol vehicle was struck by an alleged impaired driver Saturday night while deputies were finishing a domestic disturbance call in the Porterville community, authorities said.
According to the Kemper County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 9:30 p.m. on Dec. 6, 2026, to a residence on Townsend Road. Patrol units were parked in the driveway, and another marked unit was positioned along the right-of-way in front of the home.
As deputies were clearing the scene and returning to their vehicles, an approaching driver left the travel lane and hit the parked patrol unit, the sheriff’s office said.
